Ah well another famous face announces she is having a double mastectomy and her husband sitting beside her looks more scared than she does......good luck girl you are going to need it as it's not a walk in the park - I'm sure you will be at the ball drop in New York on New Year's eve without a doubt but at what cost ? Is having your own child so important that you will continue to try at all costs, is adoption that bad?
As cancer continues to gobble us up what a toll it brings - have all of us not had a friend or family member who died, was fighting, is trying to fight cancer?
Are we all predisposed to this thing now? Do u realize once u get it ,your life is spent waiting on it to comeback!
I was reading about the GERSON therapy and noticed that it clearly said you must be able to eat, drink and eliminate normally or you cannot benefit from this alternate cancer treatment. Most people wont try the therapy until chemo has knocked everything out of them then its too late. So many people over the years have fought cancer with only chemo......... if you keep burning out all your good cells what is going to happen to you...what is your quality of life going to be like? If you have chemo and keep the same lifestyle aren't the same cancerous cells going to grow back ? Isn't it better to have 6 good months than 6 years in and out of hospitals in terrible pain?
Steve Jobs tried his alternate remedies first and then was too late getting the surgery - I always believe surgery first get that thing out then make sure it doesn't grow back by using any means possible that will keep you up and about and able to fight
I always give thanks for another day above ground, but trust me I don't need to be above ground at all costs..........

Pat, congratulations on beating cancer through raw foods. You are very beautiful. I visited your salon on Constant Spring Road once. You came to my school to give a talk. I was very impressed by you. I didn't know that you were a cancer survivor. I myself was raised on a raw food diet, and used to get teased at school, or called an anorexic. Just a note on your blog presentation, the all capital text in your profile is hard to read. May I also suggest that you are an undiagnosed Celiac? Your foray into raw foods may have inadvertently or accidentally taken you away from wheat and gluten, thereby reducing your body's histamine response (which reduces the body's ability to fight off cancerous cells). A cousin of mine died of colon cancer because she was an undiagnosed celiac. It took me two years to get a conclusive diagnosis, and I was able to get my other family members to do the same. I think it's sad that you had to go through all of that torture with pain and drugs, but you are still so young at 56, and have your whole life ahead of you. You are very beautiful and you are living a lifestyle that most "celebrities" wish they had the discipline to follow. You are right, it is a big sacrifice, and I'm proud of you. As for me, I can smell bread, cake, cookies, but can't eat them because it's a life or death situation for me. I can't have gluten either, so I can't eat the usual snacks. I thank you for your perseverance, for your positive attitude, your commitment to beauty and for inspiring me never to give up.
thank u so much Bryce,my blood type is B so i cannot eat wheat so that has helped me with my gluten intake as i have long felt that what u are saying is true.
