Woke up this morning and it hit me how lucky i am to be alive....I usually give thanks every morning as my eyes pop open but this morning it was extra special.
The trees outside my window were so green and shiny, the sky was so blue and it felt so good to be alive........By midday the Ocho Rios area and most of Jamaica, especially Montego Bay i understand, was in the middle of a torrential downpour.
So i started to think...How many of us start the day with all good intentions and as the day passes, we get caught up in the rain,(doom and gloom) forgetting we are to give thanks even more?
Only those of us who love the rain can see through this, most of us hate the rain so we would have said "what an awful day, it started so beautiful this morning".....Well i think we were just experiencing beauty in another way..........But how many of us can see it?
In life, we start with the best of intentions and as time passes and the challenges come at us , we can no longer see the bright shiny leaves and the blue sky, we become morose, and can`t see our way out, we get into the 'sorry for ourselves' mode, the 'life is falling apart' attitude, therefore we can`t enjoy the now, the rain, knowing that this too will pass and behind every cloud is a blue sky. There is nothing more beautiful than the rain and if it was raining this morning it would have been just as great a day except my personal preference is bright and rain makes it dark. Some people's personal preference is dark so they don`t like when the sun with all its glory penetrates the room so therein we see how we have two sides of the coin but its the same penny.
