A 2001 BMW 323CI BURNS ??

Stress......although we say 'I`m stressed' so easily, those who say it everyday normally don`t know what the meaning of the word is, but recently I have a front row seat watching someone truly stressed.
My husband gave out his car to be fixed at the BMW dealers here in Jamaica and when I took him to pick up the car after a one day stay they took us around the back into the garage,as we walked toward the car it seemed fine except all windows were a bright bronze,on opening the door the inside was full of soot there was a huge hole in the drivers seat and under the dashboard was entirely burnt out........ The smell was unbelievable, did i say that this car a coupe, is his baby?
They said they did not notice it and just found out when they went to bring the car around to make it ready for delivery....so a car burnt in their garage during the night and not even their security guard saw or smelt anything....Amazing!
They said they would get back to us and that stretched on for a week, no car offered to drive ,no nothing. If i wasn`t there he would have had to take a taxi to work.
Then came the bombshell .... They are taking no responsibility for what happened, they don`t know what happened, we must contact our insurance company and take it from there.
Well talk about stress.....my husband has had a headache ever since...... as you don`t take your car in to the dealers and hear you have no car 24 hours later and nothing to come of it. Point is - everyday we think we have problems - check next door, there is someone in worst shape than you..
Stress comes in all shapes, all sizes and once you have life there are stressors out there for you.Things happen that we cannot ignore and although sometimes we feel to go under our covers and not come out, most of the time we can`t.
Life goes on, it's the time of the year where if you own a car you will need it to visit your relatives and have what ever fun you had planned to have . No one wants their car in a shop at Christmas, and no one wants to have a company that you have supported from they became dealers of BMW,to treat you like this when you have been faithful to the brand for years, your car is only serviced there, even your son has followed your footsteps and replaces a BMW with another BMW......
All I have to say is, if a car sits and combusts by itself with no cigarette or nothing coming close, those cars or those parts should be recalled as now we are hearing rumours that he is not the only one to have had this happen.....
Talk about stress ....I tell him things will be FINE in two thousand and NINE....We have lots to be thankful for,
He could have been in the car.

You are so right, he could have been in the car. Here in the FIRST world USA, one of my working colleagues collected her brand new car from the dealers - first warranty service - dorve it out the gate and it broke into flames less than a mile from the dealers - only difference is they had no choice but to give her a new car - but she was in it and could havelost her life

Hi Pat: I LOVE, LOVE the adjustments you made to your page.

What happened with your husband's BMW is UNBELIEVABLE!!!! It is not just about the inconvenience put purchasing a BMW is a sizable investment. I think it is awful that the Dealership does not want to take responsibility for what happened and frankly I DO NOT believe their story. Their story sound very suspect. Maybe you should contact the BMW Head Office and let them know what happened. BMW is a very prestigious brand and I am sure they would not like to be represented in that way.

Again, I am sorry to hear about this latest issue.
